1. Who are we?

We are a team of motor industry professionals, with our teams experience ranging from prestige and non prestige franchised and non franchised motor dealers, auctioneers, motor finance & insurance and fleet management.

Our team brings the best of the UK & Australian motor industries together to ensure we are meeting and exceeding independantly for both countries, the best service proposition, at market leading pricing.

A more detailed description of who we are is here.

2. Can I join if I am not VAT registered, but have been in the industry for years trading cars?

Unfortunately no. Except, if you have more than 1 franchised dealer reference you can supply us to make contact with and who is willing to supply Motortrademail.com a written reference on their letterhead confirming your trading history.

We understand there are lots of people with many years of motor industry experience that may not trade enough cars to warrant a VAT number; however we want to create a regulated environment to ensure all motor dealers meet a benchmark standard of experience, which is why we ask that you can prove a trading relationship with a franchised dealer.

3. Are you confident that all members I do business with are verified motor dealers?

Yes. We have structured our registration process to be as simple and detailed as possible while ensuring that all registered users have to provide a landline number and VAT number for our administration team to make further reference checks.

We may require on a new registration request that at least 1 reference from a franchised motor dealer confirming your trading history will be needed to be verified by our administration team, who may request this in writing and keep on file for internal auditing purposes.

4. Can I join if I have just started selling cars?

Yes. All new registration requests are vetted by our administration team and all details are confirmed and checked, however you may be asked for additional trading references before you will be an approved user and if these aren't available then your account will be declined until you can supply these.

Once vetted by our administration team you will be notified immediately if it is accepted or declined. If declined, the reasons why will also be provided to you in the same notification to allow you to rectify.

5. Why do you restrict trading to verified motor dealers / traders?

As Motortrademail.com is evolving the buying and selling process across the internet, we needed to make sure there is a benchmark to self certify industry experience and know-how to provide members the satisfaction of knowing that the dealers they are trading with should have a similar ethos and professionalism when trading with other traders.

If it is found that a user isn't acting accordingly or providing false or misleading sales information the user will be suspended subject to investigation.

6. If I am requested to supply a trading reference off an existing motor dealer that i have past trading history with, but am not that good with computers, can I still join?

Yes. One of our admin team will make contact and describe different ways of sending the reference to us. Generally we will make contact with the reference franchise dealer you nominate to save your time anyway so that we directly look after this side of things allowing you to continue trading and making money. Once this is approved so will your account.

7. If I am not that internet savvy, can I get some help in registering and submitting payment to become a member?

Yes – no problems! Please contact our sales team by clicking here and filling out your contact details and we will be more than happy to contact you by phone and go through the process with you.

8. Once I submit my registration, what do I do now?

Once you have completed the whole registration process successfully, our administration team will view your request to become a member. Please make sure you have stored your username and password and wait for a notification email from us for the next steps.

9. I have registered with Motortrademail.com should I be receiving notifications and if so, how?

Yes you should receive regular notifications from us. Once you have submitted your registration request, please make sure you set your email system up to receive all email notifications from “motortrademail.com”, so that they don’t mistakenly get sent to your SPAM inbox; in which case you may not notice you have been getting notifications from us. We will send emails to the email address you provided in your registration request.

10. If I have been notified that my registration request has been declined, what happens now?

In this instance, you need to do 2 things:

1. Read the email we sent you with any comments that may have been added from the admin team for you to follow.

2. Log into the website using your username and password.

You will notice comments from the admin team beside the link shown as “open document” where documents can be saved to your user profile. From this page, you have the ability to upload new documents and send a reply to the admin team if needed from your profile and click on “save”. This will then notify the admin team to view your recent submission and allow us to review your request for membership again.

.

11. I have been sent a notification to confirm my account has been approved, what happens now?

Firstly congratulations, now you can log into your account!

Once logged in it is recommended that you go to your “update my details” tab and set up which make & models you want to be notified of as soon as they are put up for sale by another dealer so you can be first to enquire about the car.

You must also select at least 1 county to receive automatic notifications from, you will only receive instant automatic notifications from the chosen counties dealers; you can select as many counties as you want to select, but this increases the number of notifications you will receive 24/7 - remember to click on "save".

12. If I run out of advertisements and/or DVLA lookup's half way through my trial period what do I do now?

All free trial period accounts are allocated a maximum number of advertisements and DVLA lookup's. The number of these are indicated on your profile of how many are left, and the same when you officially join motortrademail.com depending on the account type you choose. If you use your maximum allowance, you can select a suitable membership from your profile and upgrade immediately to ensure that you can continue to sell, request wholesale prices and request cars.

If you want to update your account with more advertisements/DVLA lookup's, you can do this anytime from your profile once your a paying member as well.

13. If I run out of advertisements and/or DVLA lookup's half way through the month as a paying member, how do I get more?

All full members of motortrademail.com have the ability to select different levels of membership offering more advertisement allowances and the same amount of DVLA lookup's per account. At any time any dealer can upgrade their membership to a different account and gain more advertisements and DVLA lookup's.

14. Can I add pictures to my advertisements?

Yes, every dealer can upload photos for free on each advertisement. This allows dealers to get a better idea of the car they are looking at additional to the descriptions.

15. I have submitted an advertisement but noticed I put the wrong details in a section, how can I correct it?

Each advertisement is able to be reviewed before submitting it to the network and therefore we don’t make it standard practice to edit any live advertisements and any requests may be politely refused, we would recommend to cancel the advertisement and post a new one. However each user has the ability to edit the price and delete the advertisement as well as manage your advertisments that have a deal agreed.

From the review page, every member is able to select “back” to edit any of their advertisement details and is prompted before each advertisement is submitted.

16. What if I don't want to deal with a particular member?

Every dealer has the ability to block other dealer’s advertisements and also mark other dealers as a favourite dealer.

17. If I am part of a multi site dealer group, can we have just a single account?

In order to up-hold account and user transparency this isn’t possible. Multi site dealers can register the additional sites here or contact our sales team direct here to discuss options.

Our dealer-to-dealer only platform can provide multi site dealer groups an additional cost efficient internal and external wholesale, sales route to market, on average saving over £200 per vehicle!

18. What do I do if the car I purchased doesn't meet the description in the advertisement?

As motor dealers ourselves, we have attempted to capture all information required for buyers to make a sensible decision on the car of interest, including what the estimated spend may be, tax expiry & how long an MOT has left - all costing features that any dealer considers when buying, just to name a few.

Additional to this, we provide full contact details, an optional open text box for sellers to further describe the car in the advertisment and up to 8 images, so that buyers obtain a higher level of detail about a car they would get when a car is described over the phone only; buyers can contact sellers straight away by phone, email or via our internal communication services to discuss the cars details, as well as how the transaction should occur.

19. Do you provide a public communication platform for dealers to discuss industry matters?

Yes, but not public. We provide all dealers a member only forum to discuss all industry matters as well as news, reviews and messages. Please refer to our terms and conditions for all dealer forum users.

20. How do I get answers to questions that are not in this FAQ?
